When you push the Itsme button, your
Itsme-mobile contacts
any nearby Itsme-thing and tells it: "It's me,
David. Please perform your
service for me." The smart device confirms your identity, then
asks its owner's website if you have a right to its service, and if so does it for you. Its service may be anything:
unlocking your front door, getting money at an ATM, opening and
starting a rental car, charging a purchase, telling a
medical technician the exact lab reports you need, getting you
through security and onto your plane at the airport.
Itsme's usefulness becomes more
apparent when you want access to something
that isn't
your own: a rental car, hotel room, your mother's medical
history or Visa account. Your Itsme-mobile becomes a virtual key to
it the moment its owner makes a notation in her Itsme-website. Never again
do physical keys, cards, or documents have to be passed
person-to-person, a huge convenience for both you and the
permission-giver.
